Beyond this, we collect no data automatically on markviss.com unless you consent to analytics (see Section 8).

When you use app.markviss.com, we automatically collect: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and access times; pages viewed, links clicked, and other navigational and usage data.

2.3 Personal Data from Third Parties

We may receive personal data from:

  1. Analytics and advertising partners for performance measurement (only when you have consented to such cookies).

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or to comply with legal obligations. Our retention periods are as follows:

Account data: Retained for the duration of your account and for up to 12 months after account deletion, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Transaction and billing data: Retained for 5 years in accordance with Norwegian accounting legislation (bokføringsloven).

Support and communication data: Retained for up to 24 months after resolution, unless otherwise agreed.

8.1 Types of Cookies

  • Strictly necessary cookies (app.markviss.com only): required for login, session security and the application to function. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
  • Analytics cookies (markviss.com, optional): Google Analytics 4, used to understand how visitors use the website. Set only after you accept analytics in the consent banner. Legal basis: consent.

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies on markviss.com.

8.2 Specific Cookies and Storage We Use

  • mv-consent (Markviss) — stores your analytics consent choice in your browser’s local storage. It is not a cookie and is never transmitted to us. Duration: until you clear your browser data or change your choice.
  • _ga (Google Analytics) — distinguishes visitors. Set only after consent. Duration: 2 years.
  • _ga_* (Google Analytics 4) — maintains session state for analytics. Set only after consent. Duration: 2 years.

8.3 Your Cookie Choices

On your first visit you will see a consent banner with two equal choices: accept analytics or decline. If you decline — or simply ignore the banner — no analytics scripts load and no cookies are set. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. IP addresses in Google Analytics are anonymized.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data in accordance with GDPR Article 32. These measures include:
