Vietnam is a country filled with colors so vivid, landscapes so bold, coastlines so dramatic and history so compelling that it is one of the most refreshing and enriching countries you could visit in Asia.
The country has been blessed by nature with so much soaring mountains in the north, classical temples and pagodas, bustling markets and cities, radiant rice fields and welcoming people that you leave the country with a contented heart.
But what are the facts about travelling in Vietnam that you need to know? Most tourists need to get a visa in order to enter Vietnam. Citizens of countries that have signed an agreement on unilateral or bilateral visa exemptions can get by without showing one.
Tourist visas are usually valid for 15 – 30 days and are obtained from Vietnamese embassies abroad. Just keep in mind that visas for this country are for single entry unless you specifically request for a multiple entry.

Travelling cost varies from bargain basement prices to sky high rates, depending really on the comfort and tastes of the traveller. Conventional travellers on a budget can live with $25 -$35 US dollars a day while those who want to stay in a comfortable hotel, eat well and travel flexibly can spend around $50 to $150 US dollars a day.
Top end tourists can spend around $250 or more per day and can do almost anything with such budget. Take note that the official currency in Vietnam is dong (d), but they pretty much accept the US dollars.
Try not to miss travelling to Mui Ne, the southern Vietnam’s prime beaches. Getting a Mui Ne accommodation is not a problem since the kilometers-long beaches are filled with resort and guesthouse options. The area is famous for its kite and wind surfing, since the winds are quite reliable and for their sand dunes too.
Vietnam is, by and large, a safe country to visit and has been voted to be one of the safest destinations all over the world.
