Google started with Gmail seven years ago and with time it moved further with Orkut, Buzz, wave and other social networking platform. Now to enhance its web presence it is now with most recent Google +, a site similar to facebook. There are options of invites available you can invite people to your network, there are other features too like circles, chat rooms, hangouts etc.

Let us start with the sign up. Once you sign up you are directed to uncluttered home page, it is actually the feature of Google. Just like other social networking updates you can update status, share videos and photos with friend and make posts. The additional features on this platform is that you can share even your location if you have mobile android 2.1 or higher version

As it is one of the Google effort, sharing videos from other sister sites like you tube, Picasa is far more easier then twitter and facebook. The other best thing is that the posts are not restricted to 140 characters.  If you like a post made by any of your friends, just click +1 button right below the entry and it will just work like face books like button. Google + is new with ‘circle’. It is similar to group and here you can make friend circle, office circle and family circle. If you post a message for friend circle, your office and family circle will not be able to see the message. The circle you create is visible on your home page left hand side. You can click on the circle you like to see the post of the particular person. You can also add one person to more than one circle. Selective sharing in Google+ is far easier than facebook. You can also make circle of your own like I made a circle sports leaders ad added popular sports personality in the group.

Photo viewing and sharing is easier in Google+ because of collaboration with Picasa. Users are given unlimited access and memory. Just check as you will click the picture; it will zoom in or zoom out according to your preferences. You can also edit pictures like in Picasa even you can see the camera detail, focal length, aperture and exposure.

Other feature includes ‘Sparks’ which allows you to know about latest content, blog posts, videos, news stories and other similar updates.

‘Huddles’ allow group texting but currently available with only android phones. Google has tried to compete with Black Berry messenger and Whatsapp.

‘Hang Out’, one of the best features and is the best for all who love video chatting. Once you are well with the accessories like mic and earphones you are ready to join it. Google lets you videoconference with up to 10 friends simultaneously, just need to download plugins for it.
